Curriculum Research and Evaluation, Inc. (CRE) is devoted to research and development of programs in education that promote professional development of teachers, administrators, improvement in students' achievement, lifelong learning and successful careers. CRE's specialties are to provide hands-on intensive services in order to evaluate the quality and impact of educational programs for private business and industrial companies, public and private organizations, funding agencies, schools, and Institutions of Higher Education.

Current projects involve professional development of teachers in the areas of science, mathematics, computer science, American history, and literacy; K-12 and undergraduate student programming in the areas of STEM, computer science, social studies, and arts integration; training of community health workers, and the effectiveness of education consultants.

CRE Evaluators:

Theresa Bruckerhoff is the Principal Research Associate and Operations Manager at CRE. She has a B.S. in Elementary Education and a M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction and nearly twenty-five years of evaluation experience, ten years as the principal evaluator at CRE. Theresa has sixteen years of teaching experience ranging from preschool to the middle school levels. She taught in gifted programs, special education programs, and is an experienced classroom teacher. Currently, Theresa is a member for the American Evaluation Association and other professional organizations and studies and evaluates training and professional development programing, including operations and impact, that are funded by state, federal, and private sources.

Charles Bruckerhoff is President and Founder of CRE. He founded the company in 1995 after pursuing a career focused on field-based research into educational issues affecting disadvantaged children. He provides assistance in developing the firm’s vision for research and evaluation of teaching and learning, and consults on elements specific to proposals, strategies, and project completion. He received his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Wisconsin. His research interests are the effects of public policy on institutions, social groups, and individuals; the culture and process of schooling in public and private schools; the standards and conditions of the teaching profession; the reform and improvement of education systems in the U.S.; and applied research for the improvement of educational practice as well as for the discovery of relevant and useful theoretical models and historical perspectives. Dr. Bruckerhoff is the author of Between Classes: Faculty Life at Truman High and has written numerous articles and reports on systemic reform. Recently, he founded Sequoia House Books, a company that publishes historical fiction for adults, inspirational children’s books, and young adult books.
